New project... a car as old as me...

I little history about my love for Volkswagen Bugs.

Since I came to US in 2004 from Venezuela, my dream was to buy and restore a Volkswagen Beetle. When I was a kid, a long time ago ;)  ,  I love those cars and still I can remember when I just jumped into the hole behind the rear seat and sleep there like a baby when my mom drove me back from the school. Then I watched the movie Herbie the love bug (Cupido Motorizado enamorado, the wrong translation in Spanish) and I felt in love for those cars. When I was 18 or 19, I don't remember the age, I got my first air cooled Volkswagen, a 1978 Volkswagen Brasilia as shown on the image below taken from internet.

But I was looking my first Beetle and I got one when I got married with my sweet and lovely wife on 1993 (was a 1976 Beetle if I'm not wrong on the year). I really love my wife and loved that Beetle. Our honeymoon was driving around the country with that car and was a great experience, but then I traded it with my brother's 1973 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser, because we had our sweet first daughter and the Beetle was not big enough to fit our baby and all stuff coming with her (stroller, Baby Bag, the portable playard or nursery center, etc).

Still I was missing my Beetle so I got a second one (1973 Volkswagen Beetle) but was not in pretty shape, so after bring him back to live and driving conditions, I was forced to sell the car and didn't have the opportunity again to buy one for all the highs and lows in our lives, when we were forced to leave our country and begin a new life in a new country with different language, not easy, but looks where we are.

This is my wife and me on a Cruise trip to Mexico.... I was desperate to drive this buggy... Why???

Finally, after been looking for years, I got my first 2 Beetles in Us with just a week apart each other, lucky I guess.

a 1973 Beetle when I trade in with a utility trailer that I had (this is a project that will have its own page)....

                                                                                    and my lovely 1968 Beetle.

Well, this is when our history begin....
